[ Hzgg 3 - Episode 26 ]

This episode focused more on Zi Wei-Er Kang, so for those fanatics of this couple, you must be so happy because Hzgg 3 focused more on them, rather than Yong Qi-Xiao Yan Zi… Anyways…


The 26th episode of 還珠格格: 天上人間 [Huan Zhu Gege: Tian Shang Ren Jian] started with…


Fu Heng on his horse coming toward Yong Qi and Xiao Jian, saying they’ve won and the Burmese army has retreated. The soldiers who were digging the graves cheered in happiness, hugging each other. Yong Qi and Xiao Jian weren’t happy at all. With tears in his eyes, Yong Qi said sadly “Just for victory, we had sacrificed so many people, all the way from Beijing, long distance trip, leaving family and then the soldiers died here. We’ve lost Er Kang, this is one tragedy that can’t be repaired. Families are destroyed, so many people faced death, wives lost their husbands, we’ve won but it means nothing to me” Xiao Jian went to console Yong Qi, saying late Er Kang would be happy as well. Fu Heng said Er Fu died for the country and later Yong Qi asked Fu Heng to look for a high quality coffin to bring back Er Kang’s body to Beijing so that he can be buried at his birthplace.


The Qing Army began their journey back home until they reached an intersection, one way lead back to Beijing while the other one to Dali. Fu Heng sad they won’t be entering Dali and Yong Qi said Er Kang and him finally reached Dali. Xiao Jian said “Dali won’t be gone, let it continue waiting. In my heart, we all will gather in Dali someday”. Xiao Jian then said Yunnan is his birthplace, he won’t be following them. Fu Heng asked him to follow them back to Beijing but Xiao Jian said he was just helping Wu Ah Ge and wanted nothing in return. Fu Heng said he understands, they all must be old friends, in such dangerous times, they all called each other by real names, adding he won’t tell anyone about it his real identity. Yong Qi and Xiao Jian went somewhere else for a private moment.


Xiao Jian asked Yong Qi to tell Qing Er he still loves her and told Yong Qi, all these times they never cared about their own lives but really cannot accept best friend’s own death, asking him to be strong. Xiao Jian then said he’ll return back to Beijing soon, saying his heart and Qing Er are in Beijing. He later said “Yong Qi, Xiao Yan Zi cares about feelings all these times, people who cares about feelings will be weak when faced with feelings, she’s not a brave person. She’s scared of losing you, please don’t let her down” Yong Qi proudly answered “Don’t worry, after a few times of separations, I’d made it clear to myself. After leaving Beijing, I only missed Xiao Yan Zi, not Zhi Hua. After Er Kang’s death, I understand a few things better. I’ll treasure my time with Xiao Yan Zi, others are not important anymore. Xiao Jian was relieved to hear it and asked Yong Qi to tell Qing Er that when he returns to Beijing, he’ll take Qing Er with him and that time she’s to agree with him. Both men parted ways after that, Xiao Jian to Dali and Yong Qi, joining the Qing Army, heading back to Beijing.


In Huang Gong, Jing Yang Gong to be precise, Huangshang was busy writing some poems [Think so] in the studies, watched by Xiao Yan Zi, Zi Wei, Qing Er and Zhi Hua. Prepare Xiao Yan Zi’s fans… Huangshang inspected Zi Wei’s poem and said in the palace, there are 3 intelligent women, Zi Wei, Zhi Hua and Qing Er, leaving out Xiao Yan Zi’s name . Lao Fo Ye later said she’s thinking of marrying Qing Er off to either Fu Heng’s nephew, Fu Yun or Ba Ah Ge [The 8th Prince], Yong Shun. Qing Er said she dind’t want to get married and Xiao Yan Zi in the end asked Huangshang to let Qing Er stay by Lao Fo Ye side, telling Qing Er wants to live with memories of her brother. Huangshang was about to say something when the eunuchs came in, saying there’s a letter from Yunnan.


Huangshang opened the letter and read it, happy when it’s said that they’ve won, the Burmese King had brought the elephants back to Burma. Then as he turned to the second page, his face changed. The girls quickly went to Huangshang, asking what was wrong. Xiao Yan Zi was scared something happened to Yong Qi. Huangshang looked at Zi Wei, she didn’t believe it but when Huangshang said Er Kang had passed away, Zi Wei collapsed.


*Drum rolls* In a carriage some other place, a physician is tending to… Er Kang??? Yes, Er Kang! Ba Gong Zhu [The 8th Princess], Musha was watching as the physician treated Er Kang who was bandaged all over his body, lying in the carriage. King Meng Bai was watching from his throne. It seemed that Musha had fallen in love with Er Kang and Meng Bai wasn’t happy about this. He wanted to kill Er Kang with a knife but Musha stopped him, getting her arm slashed instead. They’re heading to San Jiang where there are ingredients to make some kind of medicines to treat Er Kang.


In the Fu Resident, Fu Jin, Fu Lun, Xiao Yan Zi, Qing Er and the maids were crying in the living room, Zi Wei was sitting quietly, staring into the air. Fu Lun blamed himself for not going instead. Xiao Yan Zi went to Zi Wei, asked her to hug her and cry but Zi Wei didn’t react. Later Er Kang came in, calling out for them but they couldn’t see Er Kang. Qing Er tried consoling Zi Wei, saying she still have Dong Er but she didn’t show any reaction. Er Kang was surprised when they didn’t seem to notice him and went to hug Zi Wei but instead he fell through her. He realized that he had died and he’s just his own spirit. The nanny then came bringing Dong Er. Dong Er cried for Zi Wei, saying he loves his mother but Zi Wei didn’t show any reaction to it. Pushing Dong Er away, Zi Wei stood up, saying Er Kang had died, she’d lost her hope on everything and screamed she hates Er Kang a lot. Er Kang who was standing next to her was hurt to hear it. Er Kang tried hugging Dong Er but failed.


In San Jing, Er Kang was lied down on an exquisite bed. 2 physicians were tending him. Princess Musha later came in asking why was he still hurting. One of the physicians said they’re making a medicine called “Yin Zhu”, it’ll help Er Kang but he’ll become addicted to it after he’s cured. Princess Musha was satisfied by it and later turned to Er Kang, saying she faked Er Kang’s death and fooled the Qing army. It was clear that she loves Er Kang and said he’ll start a new life soon when he recovers.


In You You Gu [You You Valley], Zi Wei was crying as she threw flower petals into the river. She said she couldn’t cry at home, she could only cry at You You Gu since it’s their place. She hoped the flower petals will bring her message to Er Kang that she misses him. Er Kang’s voice calling out for Zi Wei echoed throughout You You Gu and Er Kang appeared out of nowhere on his horse, heading toward Zi Wei. Zi Wei and Er Kang ran toward each other and hugged, Er Kang spun her around just like they met in You You Gu in Hzgg 1. Er Kang said he’ll always be there for Zi Wei and asked Zi Wei to take care of Dong Er. He later left on his horse and disappeared, Zi Wei went to chase him but fell….


Zi Wei woke up on the floor in her room in the Fu Resident. Xiao Yan Zi and Qing Er were there, helping her up and helped her to bed. Xiao Yan Zi said both Qing Er and her will accompany Zi Wei and they’ll sleep together in bed. Zi Wei looked around, confused. Later Er Kang appeared in front of Zi Wei, tried touching her but his hand went through Zi Wei…

My goodness, the whole episode is all about Zi Wei and Er Kang! And the coming episodes, and more to come, and more… and until the end… My goodness… I shall stop saying ‘oh my goodness’ now… let’s try… Tian Ah!
