[ Hzgg 3 - Episode 9 ]

Okay, I’ve just read a few emails from my internet friends and I’m currently not in the mood to elaborate on this episode but it’s a very sad one actually. Poor Huang Hou… Ack, Hzgg 3 is damn sad… Why…! Lemme enjoy the opening credits first, the part I love the most in Hzgg 3…


The 9th episode of Hzgg 3 kicked off with…


Er Kang was tending Zi Wei’s wound after being slapped by Huangshang. Xiao Yan Zi and Yong Qi were there too. Xiao Yan Zi commented Huangshang changed when he met women until he could slap other people . Er Kang agreed, couldn’t believe that Huangshang slapped Zi Wei because of Miss Xia. Er Kang asked Zi Wei not to cry, not wanting her eyes to swollen just like her mouth [ I find it rather funny, though…]. Zi Wei said she has so many things to say about Miss Xia too. Er Kang said it’s impossible that Yu He’s spirit in Ying Ying. Yong Qi agreed too. Xiao Yan Zi stood up and wanted to go tell Huangshang but Yong Qi stopped her, concerned cuz Zi Wei got slapped, leave alone Xiao Yan Zi! She answered that they have to tell him what they have in their hearts, if Huangshang didn’t care about Lao Fo Ye, Zi Wei, Huang Hou, Ling Fei, Yong Qi and her, then they should not care about him as well. Yong Qi agreed but said they have to talk about something else first. So Xiao Yan Zi dragged Yong Qi out from the room. Er Kang said to Zi Wei maybe Huangshang will listen to Yong Qi since he’s becoming a Tai Zi.


At Huangshang’s boat, Yong Qi handed Huangshang an official document for his to check through. Yong Qi wrote about ‘How to save villagers from dying of hunger’ [Something like that…]. So Xiao Yan Zi hinted Huangshang telling that Yong Qi spent every night squeezing ideas out of his brain. So Huangshang was very satisfied after checking it, saying that he’ll ask the magistrates to follow what Yong Qi had written. Huangshang asked them what else they want to say so Yong Qi pulled Xiao Yan Zi to kneel together before Huangshang. Yong Qi said about their trip was widely known and if the people knew about Huangshang fooling around, more gossips will spread all over the place. Huangshang told them not to say anything cuz he’d decided and nobody could stop him. Xiao Yan Zi butted in, saying that she’s not as good as Yong Qi yet she had to say it. She asked why Huangshang’s such a hard-headed and he’s already has one too many concubines. He said if he does it, Lao Fo ye, Huang Hou, Ling Fei will be sad. He slapped Zi Wei and her mouth was swollen and her eyes too because she cried too much. Maybe he didn’t care about everybody’s sadness. She continued, quoted what Huangshang once said, family unity is important then country can be in peace but his own family member cannot be compared with Xia Ying Ying, how could that be..?! Huangshang complimented her, saying she had improved a lot and can talk wisely, he agreed with her but… he then asked them to stand up.


He said what Yong Qi said is true. He feels lonely; already 55 years old, how many more days can he be happy [Woah, he’s young man! Talk about marrying early. Wonder how old Yong Qi is…].Yong Qi disagreed but Huangshang continued, saying he’d lived his whole life for his country now it’s time to live for himself. Turning to Yong Qi, he asked him what if he told Yong Qi to give Xiao Yan Zi up just for the sake of his country, what will he do? Yong Qi was horrified and didn’t say anything…


In Huang Hou’s room, Rong Mo Mo entered, saying that it’s official. The ceremony of title bestowing will take place in 3 days time. So Huang Hou wanted to write an official document to Huangshang. She used her own blood to write it. Later Huanghou, Ling Fei, Lao Fo ye and Qing Er arrived at Huangshang’s boat. Lao Fo ye asked Huangshang to read the official document but he refused until Lao Fo Ye threatened to kneel before him. So he read and concluded that Huanghou is jealous and feels threatened by Ying Ying. When Leo Fo Ye said Ying Ying should be killed, Huangshang took the official document and ripped it into little pieces. Qing Er ran out to call Zi Wei and Xiao Yan Zi. Huanghou began her long speech and one sentence that touched me greatly is “Women in the palace are the worst tragedy in human’s history”. Lao Fo Ye was astonished to hear it. So later Huanghou took of her hair ornaments and let go of her long hair. She’s actually quite pretty… With a pair of scissors in her hand, she began cutting her hair short until Xiao Yan Zi and the gang came. Xiao Yan Zi took the scissors away and then Huanghou began slamming her head against the pillar but Yong Qi and Er Kang managed to stop her. When Rong Mo Mo reminded her about Shi Er Ah Ge [Yong Ji, the 12th prince], she stopped. Huangshang then agreed not to take Xia Ying Ying as his concubine and asked Fu Lun to send Huanghou back to palace and she’ll not be Huanghou anymore since hair a Huanghou has to have long hair [What the shit is that…]. She’ll not live in Kun Ning Gong anymore but will live in Qing Xing Yuan, at the back of the Forbidden City, like an isolated palace I think.


In Xiao Yan Zi’s room, Yong Qi was busy writing an official document as Xiao Yan Zi babbled on that day’s incident. Later Xiao Yan Zi said something wrong and Yong Qi corrected her, Xiao Yan Zi went to Yong Qi and made him accidentally drew a big line across the document, practically ruining it. Xiao Yan Zi asked him not to teach her how to talk again cuz she feels like exploding. Yong Qi answered back, a bit mad, he’s the one who’s gonna explode. He’d spent a lot of time writing and now she ruined it [I want them to fight but no... they didn’t!!]. Xiao Yan ZI just pouted as Yong Qi rambled on her and answered back he’s kinda weird, still can practice writing at time like that. He said he’s not, he had to write it to make Huangshang happy. Xiao Yan Zi said it’s a pity cuz she began to love Huanghou already. She’s very brave!


The next morning, it was time to send Huanghou back to palace. The youngsters bid her farewell and Xiao Yan Zi wanted to give Huanghou her Jian Pai [Golden Seal] but she refused to accept it. Er Kang commented on how realistic the Da Rens in Hang Zhou. The Huanghou just left and no one came to bid farewell. Later they left and Xiao Jian began fighting with Yong Qi. Xiao Jian blamed Huangshang for being mean and stuff. Yong Qi protected his father and was mad. Xiao Jian left and Yong Qi asked Xiao Yan Zi does his brother have a problem. Xiao Yan Zi pushed Yong Qi’s arm away, telling him not to scold her brother. Sensing a fight coming, ZI Wei and Er Kang pulled them aside. Xiao Jian and Qing Er stood by the river bank where Xiao Jian began telling her his family story. His father, Fang Zhi Han was beheaded 24 years ago because of a poem and later that night his mom killed herself. Qing Er was shocked by the story and it ended…

Nothing interesting about this episode. But one thing touched my heart greatly, what Huanghou said was true! It’s what will happen to Xiao Yan Zi, exactly after this… Zhi Hua, Yong Qi… Grrr…


Waaah, for the first time ever, I managed to summarize an episode and post it on the same night. The summary’s dead short cuz nothing’s interesting happened in the story… -_-"
