[ Hzgg 3 - Episode 5 ]

Today’s episode started with Xiao Yan Zi wanting to do her own performance, feeling dared by Zhi Hua. Zi Wei tried stopping her but Zhi Hua wanted to see her performance. So Zi Wei agreed that she will be playing the Qin [Zither], Xiao Jian will play his flute and Yong Qi will be helping Xiao Yan Zi. So they started off, Xiao Yan Zi and Yong Qi had a sword fight while painting on the white board. Zi Wei said it’s like Xiao Yan Zi used to do once, Yong Qi taught her sword movements as she memorized some poem. [In Hzgg 1 where Huangshang asked Xiao Yan Zi to memorize a poem so that she can follow him on the trip].


It’s funny actually. Each time Xiao Yan Zi attempted to draw on the boards, Yong Qi would stop her with his own movements. Yong Qi being the smart one drew on the white boards while trying to prevent Xiao Yan Zi from doing so. Huangshang was covering his eyes with a fan. Xiao Yan Zi spilled a lot of ink and brushes fell all over the place. When she tripped, Yong Qi caught her and told her to be careful. All of them clapped their hands and Huangshang said that one has to use his own imagination to interpret the drawings. Yong Qi said the drawings are just like the lions [Episode 4] that are basically just rocks. Zi Wei and Er Kang stepped forward, writing poetic writings on the boards. They bowed in front of them all while Zi Wei said that she and Er Kang had to help in because of the not-so-well performance. Chen commented that he finally saw someone performing using both arts and martial arts skills. All of them clapped their hands, happy including Lao Fo Ye. Xiao Yan Zi turned around and smiled at Zhi Hua who smiled at her.


Later Rong Mo Mo entered Lao Fo Ye’s room with Yong Qi behind her. Yong Qi asked whether he’d done something wrong and Qing Er was seen shaking her head at him all the time, signaling something bad was going to happen. Lao Fo Ye said that he was summoned to talk about something good. Huangshang told him that Lao Fo ye was thinking of marrying Zhi Hua to him as his concubine so she wants to ask his opinion. Yong Qi was dead shocked and instantly said cannot, reasoning that Chen’s daughter deserves higher title that just becoming a mere concubine. Lao Fo ye answered back that with Yong Qi’s status, it’s good enough for Zhi Hua to become just a concubine. She asked Ling Fei about it and she didn’t have nay choice but to agree I guess. Yong Qi talked back, saying that even if Zhi Hua doesn’t feel anything, Xiao Yan Zi will be hurt. So Lao Fo Ye asked Huang Hou and being nice answered she doesn’t feel hurt [Women those days….]. Lao Fo ye continued saying after Zhi Hua entered the palace, things will be just like Ling Fei and Huang Hou, nobody will be hurt. She added that Mrs. Cheng had agreed and Huangshang didn’t have any comment about it [Scared of his own mummy???] so now she wants to here from Yong Qi himself.


Yong Qi stepped forward to Huangshang, telling him that this kind of thing has to be planned first, telling that Huangshang understands Xiao Yan Zi, he thought that it’s to cruel to do such thing and didn’t have the heart to do it. Huangshang stood up and faced Lao Fo Ye, saying that things were happening to fast and they have to think about it thoroughly first before making decisions. Lao Fo ye protested, why need to think about it first. Qing Er piped in, saying that Wu Ah Ge and Xiao Yan Zi had gone through many hard times before getting married. She said she’s closer to them and knew how they think. Xiao Yan Zi was not born royal and she didn’t know about the palace rules, adding that in Xiao Yan Zi’s mind, there can’t be a third person. Yong Qi agreed with Qing Er. He explained that in Xiao Yan Zi’s mind, men and women are just the same, it’s an honour, just like a perfect love, just like Zi Wei and Er Kang. Yong Qi continued, saying that he though Lao Fo Ye had understood about their love. She said she never understands but she agreed with their love, adding that if Xiao Yan Zi continued like this, she won’t bear a child. She sarcastically tested Yong Qi maybe he didn’t want to have a child.


Ling Fei stood up to and said not to act to fast, saying that they are still young and still can have children. If this matter’s the thing that makes Yong Qi marries a concubine, Xiao Yan Zi will be so sad. Huangshang stood up again, going to Yong Qi, saying that Xiao Yan Zi will be so jealous. He took Xiao Yan Zi’s side, saying that he’d monitored her years by years, saying that she had changed a lot. Even though her attitude’s still the same but the way she talked is more polite now. Sometimes she even used Chengyu in her conversations. Pulling Yong Qi’s shirt secretly, Yong Qi turned to him and said it’s true. Xiao Yan Zi studies all day long even though she says she doesn’t want to but she works hard just to be a good wife. If Lao Fo Ye sees her, she’ll feel touched.


Lao Fo Ye nonchalantly said that no matter how hard she studies, she cannot be compared with Zhi Hua [ *&^$$* this old lady!]. Yong Qi’s eyes almost popped out actually and Huangshang tried to cool things down by saying that they each have their own good sides. Sitting back on his chair, Huangshang said that they should postpone this things first, saying that they’ll be heading to Hang Zhou [???] in two days time and cannot drag Zhi Hua along. Huangshang added that if in two years time Xiao Yan Zi still hasn’t gives birth yet and Yong Qi agrees with it, then they’ll bring Zhi Hua into the palace. Lao Fo Ye protested that not only give birth but she thinks Yong Qi lacks of a good wife.


Stepping forward, Yong Qi said Xiao Yan Zi is his good wife and he didn’t want any concubine, continuing that he only wants Xiao Yan Zi. Lao Fo Ye was getting mad already, saying that this thing didn’t need his agreement, adding that if Xiao Yan Zi doesn’t agree with it, she’s not a good wife then. Yong Qi too was losing his temper, stepping forward saying that if Lao Fo ye continues with her plan, he’ll never bear a child with his concubine. Lao Fo Ye slammed her hand on the table, asking him what did he mean by that. Yong Qi explained that if he never does anything with his concubine, it’s like a false marriage and will have no kids whatsoever. He added that Lao Fo ye should not destroy Chen’s daughter’s happiness. Lao Fo Ye was raged with anger, pointing her finger to Yong Qi.


Huang Hou stepped in, saying that as long as Lao Fo Ye had an agreement with Mrs. Chen, things will go as planned, slowly, no matter what Wu Ah Ge will agree to it somehow. She coaxed her not to be mad, asking Rong Mo Mo to massage Lao Fo Ye. At the same time, Rong Mo Mo asked Lao Fo Ye to be relaxed and not to force Wu Ah Ge too much. Qing Er voiced out her opinion but ended up getting scolded when she said about a poem wrote by Zhuo [About a girl who ran away with the guy after falling for his music (Flute)].


Back in Xiao Yan Zi’s room, papers with inks were scattered all over the place while she was busy trying to draw something she copied from a book. Her cheek was smudged with black ink. Yong Qi then entered with worried face and Xiao Yan Zi instantly asked Yong Qi to teach her to draw, saying that all her drawings of tree trunks looked like rocks and vice versa. Looking at his passionate wife, Yong Qi sighed asking why she wanted to learn drawing. Lifting a brush with both her hands, Xiao Yan Zi answered that she cannot lose all the time, saying Zhi Hua was too great and her drawings were awesome. She showed Yong Qi a piece of paper, saying that she’d tried drawing the bamboos but ended up really ugly. Yong Qi just looked at the drawing, touched by her hard work [For the first time I like the new Yong Qi… ] and just sighed as he looked at the grinning Xiao Yan Zi. Putting the paper aside, Yong Qi shook his head, asking her not to learn anymore, saying that nobody’s perfect. He continued that her drawings will never be as good as Zhi Hua, thus making Xiao Yan Zi felt bad and sad [ I was shocked as well…] but he quickly added that Zhi Hua didn’t know how to play sword and martial arts, she’s nothing compared to Xiao Yan Zi.


Xiao Yan Zi stood up, telling him it’s not like that, saying he should not try to make things better; she cannot be compared to Zhi Hua. She added that she embarrassed everyone and was willing to learn just for Yong Qi as long as someone’s willing to teach her. Noticing Yong Qi’s pale face, Xiao Yan Zi went to him and asked why did Lao Fo Ye summoned him, did he get scolded by her again. She added it’s because she did something wrong again. Yong Qi stared at Xiao Yan Zi’s face, making her asked what was wrong with her face. Yong Qi answered that there’s a small lion on her face. She became very excited and went to see it in the mirror, saying that it’s not a lion but a cloud, saying out a poem. Yong Qi was surprised and asked her how she could memorize the poem. Xiao Yan Zi said Zi Wei taught her and she could memorize everything. She then looked back into the mirror while reciting another poem. Yong Qi stared at his wife before embracing her from behind [He has a weird way of hugging her, he hugs her around her shoulder, why not her waist instead…?! Scared to get intimate with his own wife..?! ]. Yong Qi told her if one day he let her down and fell for another woman, he’ll die in the most horrible way. Xiao Yan Zi hugged Yong Qi, asking why he said such a thing. Yong Qi answered because she was so nice and he loved her so much. Xiao Yan Zi promised not to be jealous and fight with him anymore and while they were cherishing the sweet moment of hugging together, Qing Er suddenly came and handed her a letter for Xiao Jian.


Xiao Jian read the letter Qing Er wrote and was sad. She asked him to forget her because she’d chosen to stay by Lao Fo Ye’s side. Lao Fo ye was getting suspicious already. Xiao Jian wanted to leave but Er Kang stopped him, saying it’s their time to help him since he’d helped them all these times. When Xiao Yan Zi said about going to their parents’ house in Hang Zhou, Xiao Jian was taken aback and shook his head, not wanting to go there. Xiao Yan Zi apologized and coaxed Xiao Jian to stay, saying they’ll think of something when they reach Hang Zhou. Zi Wei, Er Kang and Yong Qi asked him not to give up too early because Qing Er had her own trouble since she had to stay by Lao Fo Ye’s side all the time.


So they left for Hang Zhou later and Xiao Yan Zi was kinda jealous when she saw Lao Fo Ye really liked Zhi Hua. Zhi Hua baked some cake specially for Lao Fo Ye. Zi Wei said that it doesn’t matter since Yong Qi really loved Xiao Yan Zi not Zhi Hua. Er Kang asked Xiao Jian to be patient and not to reveal thebig family’s secret since Xiao Yan Zi is happy now. Later we saw them on this boat. When they reached the river bank, Er Kang and Fu Lun talked to a Magistrate, asking him about the security thingy [Too lazy to elaborate on it…]. The magistrate said he’d placed skillful people by the river bank to watch out for things.


Soon it was night time. Huangshang had dinner with his Magistrates, while a group of dancers, clad in Indian costume performed before him. He asked Fu Lun whether he should invite Yong Qi and Er Kang to join them but Fu Lun said they are busy talking with Lao Fo Ye. In Lao Fo Ye’s room, Qing Er was massaging Lao Fo Ye while she talked to Ling Fei. Then Xiao Yan Zi came to the room, asking Lao Fo Ye’s permission to ‘borrow’ Qing Er for 2 hours to help her. She said Yong Qi and Zi Wei were busy reciting poems and Chengyu so she needed Qing Er’s help. But Lao Fo Ye got suspicious and told Qing Er to stay if she wants to be a good Qing Er. So before leaving, Xiao Yan Zi gave Qing Er a note and went back to her own boat. [They’re staying on boats instead of in some hotel]


Xiao Jian was upset that they failed their first plan but Yong Qi said they’ll execute their second plan. He asked Xiao Jian to be patient and wait until midnight. So around 2 o’clock, Qing Er was waiting in front of the boat and we saw Er Kang rowing a smaller boat while Xiao Jian and Yong Qi standing on the front. They ‘stole’ Qing Er for a while and Er Kang paddled somewhere else, to the river bank. So after making sure everything was fine, they all started lighting up candles all over the place and we can see a table full of various types of food. Yong Qi, Er Kang, Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei left them to give them two some privacy. Er Kang said they have 2 hours because they have to send Qing Er back by 4 o’clock. As soon as they left, Qing Er and Xiao Jian hugged each other and…

Okay, this episode really pissed me off. The starting was fine, Xiao Yan Zi and Yong Qi paired up and performed, it was cute. I like the part where Yong QI caught Xiao Yan Zi from falling flat. One thing for sure, I hate the way Zhi Hua smiles at Xiao Yan Zi. Hmmm…


This is the most annoying part. Lao Fo Ye summoned Yong Qi to her room to discuss about his marriage to Zhi Hua! Thank goodness Yong Qi protested hard against it. I likey, Huangshang helped too! Stupid Lao Fo Ye.


Better go before I start posting bad words in here… Hehe…
