[ Hzgg 3 - Episode 2 ]

The 2nd episode of Huan Zhu Gege: Tian Shang Ren Jian started of with…


Xiao Yan Zi dressed in male attires, performing in front of Huangshang and the whole of royal family. Her male name was Gege Zi Yan Xiao, if the translations are correct… She was jumping from a camel to another camel, balancing herself on the humps using her martial arts. So after much showing off, she landed on the ground. Of all people, I think Yong Qi was the only one who knew that the guy was Xiao Yan Zi. Maybe Er Kang knew about it too since he was laughing all the time. Then the camels started going wild after Xiao Yan Zi accidentally hit one of them, they spitted and licked her. She ran away from the camels and ran up a wooden flag pole, it fell and Xiao Yan Zi managed to climb onto the wall and with Yong Qi’s help she was on the stage with the royal family. There, the truth was revealed and Huangshang declared that Xiao Yan Zi was the winner and awarded her with some kind of necklace.... Meanwhile, Lao Fo Ye was displeased by Xiao Yan Zi’s attitude, grumbling about how she wasn’t still pregnant and bleargh…


Then they moved to this gazebo. Huangshang asked Xiao Yan Zi to recite a poem for him since it was his 30th anniversary. Yong Qi and Zi Wei stepped forward, trying to protect her but Huangshang asked them to stop protecting her. So she recited a poem and with Yong Qi’s help, she pleased Huangshang and Lao Fo Ye. She kept jingling the bell in her hand… Hehe. Then she recited a poem about Lao Fo Ye and Ling Fei and Er Kang. Er Kang then composed a poem about Qing Er who recited a poem about Zi Wei. Hmm, something like that. I couldn’t remember… *Shrugs* Then 2 people came and presented Huangshang with the first coin made that year, a lucky coin that is. He gave the coin to Zi Wei cuz her child had some kind of bad luck or something.


Okay, then it was night time. The royal family was watching the fireworks in the sky together by the river bank. Then Huangshang summoned Er Kang and Yong Qi to his side, asking about their trip to Jiang Nan [Is it?]. Lao Fo Ye, Qing Er, Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei will be following the guys as well. After that, Zi Wei and Xiao Yan Zi dragged Qing Er to a place where she met with Xiao Jian. They had a little talk and Xiao Jian was kinda pissed when Qing Er kept saying about Lao Fo Ye. Zi Wei, Er Kang, Xiao Yan Zi and Yong Qi were guarding on opposite sides. Suddenly Lao Fo Ye came with Huang Hou and Ling Fei Niang Niang, and Xiao Yan Zi and Yong QI began panicking. Wanting to stall her, Xiao Yan Zi jumped in front of ladies, surprising them. Then she climbed onto a tree and fell. Yong Qi jumped out, trying to catch her but… he missed her and she fell flat on her back onto the ground! What the hell, Yong Qi never missed catching Xiao Yan Zi before?! *Slices Yong Qi*


Anyways, Lao Fo Ye then lectured Xiao Yan Zi about how she would suffer miscarriage each time she gets pregnant and hinted Yong Qi to take a concubine. Yong Qi asked Lao Fo ye whether she was joking but she insisted she wasn’t, telling them that she had talked to Huangshang about it, and Huang Hou was still choosing ‘the girl’. Xiao Yan Zi just kept quite the whole time, sometimes shooting cold glares at Yong Qi.


The couple headed back to Jing Yang Gong, where Xiao Yan Zi was kinda angry and frustrated about how Lao Fo Ye was never pleased with her. Yong Qi dragged her to a seat and told her about the strict palace rules. How he couldn’t stand them and how he was captivated by Xiao Yan Zi’s carefree attitude after stepping into the palace. Xiao Yan Zi then resulted in studying so that Lao Fo Ye won’t ask Yong Qi to take a concubine. She took a book and started reciting these words which I couldn’t understand… Yong Qi helped her by telling the meanings. After a while, Yong Qi hugged her and tossed the book away, telling her that they have a more important thing to do. Xiao Yan Zi gasped, asking what it is. Embracing Xiao Yan Zi tightly, Yong Qi whispered romantically to her, asking her to give him a child real soon. Xiao Yan Zi pushed Yong Qi away before smiling and both of them dived into their bed, and the yellow curtains censored the whole thing… Hehe…


In the Fu Resident, Dong Er was busy practicing cute martial arts movements in front of Fu Lun and Fu Jin. Then Er Kang and Zi Wei came home, telling them about Huangshang inviting both Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei to come along on the trip. Zi Wei refused to go because she didn’t want to leave little Dong Er at home. In their room, Zi Wei was thinking about the whole thing while rocking her son to sleep. Er Kang asked her who was more important to her, Dong Er or her own father, Huangshang. She said that Dong Er was still little and needed her care. Then Er Kang mischievously asked her, who was more important to her, Dong Er or him? After placing Dong Er on the bed, Zi Wei went to hug Er Kang, telling him she loves him and stuff. So after noticing Zi Wei was crying, Er Kang told her how he was still alive because of her and shiz. He then lifted her into his arms and sat on the bench, persuading her to come along with them on the trip. So Zi Wei then agreed and they kissed while Dong Er giggled as he watched them.


Then days later, the day arrived. Carriages and horses were ready and the royal family was seen walking down from the stairs. Lao Fo Ye went into the first carriage with Qing Er. Blah and blah, Huangshang then asked Zi Wei and Xiao Yan Zi to join him in Lao Fo Ye’s carriage. So the girls agreed and while they were heading to the carriage, Xiao Yan Zi suddenly stopped, telling Zi Wei that she left something important and was going to take it. Zi Wei shouted to her, asking her not to go but she still went off… And that’s the end of episode 2.


[Ranting Time...]


Now hear me rant about this episode. First of all, how could Yong Qi of all people missed catching Xiao Yan Zi and she ended up flat on the ground?! Second, Lao Fo Ye was still the pathetic annoying lady, never changed a bit, kept asking whether Xiao Yan Zi was pregnant or not. Third, their wardrobes are weirder now.. o.O


The part I love the most is when Yong Qi tried kissing Xiao Yan Zi after telling her she meant everything to him while she was reciting some Chengyu. She playfully pushed him away before continuing reading out weird words… And the part where Er Kang jokingly asked Zi Wei who was more important, him or Dong Er is funny too. The look on Er Kang’s face is priceless. Pretending to be innocent… Hehe…
